Time machine for predictive imagination

We all know the story of time machine written by H. G. Wells, wherein we can go in past or future to experience the life at that time. Based on this concept many interesting stories, TV series and films were produced applying this idea for particular period in history of mankind or what would happen in future due to technical advances or environmental changes.

A thought came in my mind that we can use this concept proactively to trace the possible alternatives in our own life. Accordingly, in my imaginary time machine there will be options for going back with time slots like day, week,  year or events in our life where we have taken major decisions to select our course of life. It would be an interesting exercise to plot our possible  change in life  pattern with that changed decision.

It will be more useful for future planning if the same concept is used to predict the scenarios in our life or business. Our all decisions are outcome of our predictions about future at current time. But if we extend this concept and explore all the possible future options that could be available in time periods like next week, month or year or expected future state, we can analyse the resulting scenarios much beforehand based on our present understanding of our life or business.

Thorough analysis of options that would be available in future would produce a multi threaded  diagram of scenarios and decision events. This diagram will be modified continuously as we travel in future by considering changes in  options and or emergence of new events.

Many large scale  complex projects like international corporate businesses, weather predictions, biodiversity changes may be greatly benefited by such approach as they have access and capacity to gather and analyse large time variable data continuously.

At individual level, we can develop our own future decision tree based on our limited knowledge. This would be an interesting exercise giving scope to our imagination and mental satisfaction of traveling in time machine.
